Kendall Conrad

Kendall Conrad is a California-based sculptor working in wood, clay, and bronze. Her practice explores geological processes—erosion, compression, fracture, and sedimentation—through forms that suggest both natural structures and quiet architectural presence. Rather than working from sketches or predetermined plans, she develops each piece intuitively through direct engagement with material, allowing the form to emerge in response to its internal logic. Surface irregularities, cracks, and shifts are preserved as integral elements rather than corrected. Her charcoal drawings follow the sculptures as a further study of structure and movement, extending the work’s investigation into how natural forces shape matter over time.
